Our Story

Clio Wood founded &Breathe in January 2015 after having a baby in 2014.  

She knows all too well the ups and downs of new motherhood, the tears, the smiles, leaky nappy roulette...and very often self-care is the first thing to go from your schedule. Searching unsuccessfully for a way to kickstart her exercise routine in a safe way, she decided to hold her own retreat, full of accessible and effective fitness classes, delicious but healthy food, massages, time for you, date nights, and built-in childcare.  &Breathe was born!  

We focus on realistic and proper fitness and wellbeing for pre/postnatal, parenthood and peri-menopause, because these big life stage changes are all challenging to your mental and physical wellbeing.

&Breathe also created 24 Hour retreats in the UK, partnered with Four Seasons Hotels and Martinhal Resorts.  In 2019 we were again named in the Times Top 50 Holidays in France.

Founder

Clio started &Breathe in 2015 after her first daughter was born.  She is a women’s health advocate and author of Get Your Mojo Back, Sex, Pleasure and Intimacy After Birth (Watkins 2023).

Clio lives in London, with her husband Bryn and their two daughters, Delphi and Echo.  La Jugie is their home and the perfect space to &Breathe.

Caroline Bragg
Chief Butt-kicker

Our highly experienced Head PT, Caroline, brings a whoop and a smile to every session. She is dedicated to women’s health at all phases, including pre/postnatal and menopause and has helped shape programmes, trainings and courses at Frame, Stylist Allbright and Give Me Strength App amongst others. She lives in London and has a son called Fox.

Amanda Savage
Resident Expert Physiotherapist

Amanda Savage is an experienced Physiotherapist and Pilates instructor who specialises in helping women find and train their pelvic floor muscles. She offers discreet 1:1 consultations from her clinic in Cambridge and is working to bring expert knowledge, skills and advice to &Breathe clients.

Liz Sergeant
Resident Registered Nutritionist

Liz specialises in working with women and families from preconception and pregnancy through to postpartum nutrition, weaning and kids nutrition. As a mum to two little people herself, she has plenty of simple tricks and tips to keep you being your OptiMUM despite those sleepless nights.

Dr Alex Kasozi
Resident Psychologist

As a psychologist and a new mum, Alexandra knows that the post-natal period can be mentally and emotionally flooring. She works on a 1:1 basis to support new mums in their journey to mental health, balance and wellbeing - whatever this may look like for them. She specialises in helping women recover from traumatic birth experiences, anxiety and depression.

Nicki Brown
Personal Trainer

Nicki is a level 3 qualified personal trainer and works with clients of all abilities and strengths across East London.  Nicki also loves training pregnant and new mum clients and teaches pre- and post-natal classes at Frame. She is also a sports massage therapist and is known for bringing fun and enthusiasm to all her sessions, after all she did used to be a bartender on a cruise ship!

Emily Pullan
Personal Trainer

Emily is not only a Pre + Postnatal Personal Trainer but also an NHS Midwife working in South London. 

She loves combining her two passions: midwifery and fitness and believes being a Midwife makes me a better Personal Trainer and vice versa - we agree! She supports women to feel strong & empowered in all stages of their journey as a woman.

Stef Larden
Personal Trainer

Having grown up in a house of yoga teachers, therapists, rugby and football players, Stef is incredibly passionate about keeping women healthy and, in particular, helping mums to stay strong and empowered throughout their pregnancy & postnatal journey and beyond.

Now a new mum, her mission is to create as many positive, powerful women as possible - just like &Breathe!
